"RESURRECTION"
1 Thessalonians
4:16-18
"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a
loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call
of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who
are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord
forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words." "
Philippians 3:20-21
"But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a
Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21who, by the power that
enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our
lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. "
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud
command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of
God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17After that, we who are
still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord
forever. 18Therefore encourage each other with these words. "
Luke
14;13-14
"But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the
crippled, the lame, the blind, 14and you will be blessed. Although they
cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the
righteous. "
Philippians 3:8-11
"What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the
surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I
have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ
and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes
from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ--the
righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. I want to know Christ
and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his
sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain
to the resurrection from the dead."
Revelation 20:4-6
"I
saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to
judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of
their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not
worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their
foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a
thousand years. 5(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the
thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and
holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death
has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ
and will reign with him for a thousand years."
John 11:25-26
"Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the
life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies and
whoever lives and believes in me will never die. "
1 Corinthians 15
"20But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the
firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21For since death came
through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.
22For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23But
each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes,
those who belong to him.
42So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that
is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43it is sown in
dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in
power; 44it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If
there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45So it is
written: "The first man Adam became a living being"[1] ; the last Adam,
a lifegiving spirit. 46The spiritual did not come first, but the
natural, and after that the spiritual.
51Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but
we will all be changed-- 52in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at
the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised
imperishable, and we will be changed. 53For the perishable must clothe
itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54When
the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal
with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death
has been swallowed up in victory." 55"Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?" 56The sting of death is sin, and the
power of sin is the law."
